Account Information: When you sign up via Google OAuth, we receive your email address and Google profile display name. This is used solely for account identification and membership management.
Subscription Data: Payment and subscription status (e.g., Free, Pro, Enterprise) is stored on our backend server to enforce usage limits and provide premium features.
API Keys: AI provider API keys (e.g., DeepSeek, OpenAI, Claude) are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage using the Chrome storage.local API. We never transmit, store, or have access to your API keys on our servers.
Conversation History: Chat messages and AI responses are stored locally in your browser. They are never uploaded to our servers or any third party except the AI provider you explicitly select.
Usage Metrics: We collect anonymous aggregate usage data (e.g., number of conversations, features used) to improve the extension. This data is not personally identifiable.
Support Communications: If you contact us via email, we retain the contents of your message and your email address solely for responding to your inquiry.
2. How We Use Your Information
To provide and maintain the extension's core functionality (chat, auto-fill, skills, membership management).
To authenticate your account via Google OAuth and manage your subscription status.
To enforce conversation limits based on your membership tier (Free / Pro / Enterprise).
To improve the extension by analyzing anonymized usage patterns.
To respond to your support requests and communicate about your account.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
AI Providers: When you send a chat message, it is forwarded directly from your browser to the AI provider you selected (e.g., DeepSeek, OpenAI). We do not intermediate or store these requests.
Third-Party Services: We use Vercel (hosting) and Prisma (database). These services have their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. No personal data beyond your email and subscription status is stored on our backend.
Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect our rights.
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
4. Data Security
API keys and conversation history are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's encrypted storage.local API. They never leave your device unless you explicitly send a chat request to an AI provider.
Account credentials and subscription data transmitted to our backend are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your data. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
Local Data: Conversation history, API keys, and extension settings are stored on your device until you delete them. You can clear all stored data at any time through the extension's Settings panel, or by uninstalling the extension.
Server Data: Your email address and subscription status are retained for the duration of your account. You may request deletion by contacting support@etsyant.com.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Access and Correction: You can view and edit your account information through the My Account page in the extension settings.
Data Deletion: You can delete your locally stored data at any time. To delete your server-side account data, contact us at support@etsyant.com.
Opt-Out: You may disable data collection by uninstalling the extension. Your locally stored data is not transmitted anywhere.
Browser Controls: You can manage extension permissions (including site access and storage) through Chrome's extension management page.
7. Third-Party Links
The extension or its homepage may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., Etsy, AI provider websites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
8. Children's Privacy
The extension is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
